1. a beauty experience down memory lane

a flashback to the days of buying Glossier products via direct mail from overseas. feeling the power of the brand firsthand in a New York City store. i was impressed by the authenticity of the brand’s expansion into lifestyle and the personalized packages it offers.

2. new York, the city itself

the ferry of choice for traveling from Manhattan to Brooklyn. the view of the Manhattan Bridge looked like something out of a movie, and even in the freezing winter air, it was an unforgettable sight.

3. a bowl to thaw the frozen body

bukchangdong Sundubu (BCD) is one of New York’s more famous restaurants. after a long day of reporting in sub-zero temperatures, a bowl of hot sundubu stew melted my entire body.

4. the return of the cool girl beauty look

backstage at the Kim Shui show. the ‘cool girl’ beauty look, complete with intense eye makeup and peachy lips, is back. this new take on the nude color made me want to be a tonal girl.

5. walls painting freedom

graffiti art on every corner in Brooklyn. as an editor, I was inspired by the freedom to express themselves in a creative world where there are no right or wrong answers.

6. a short escape

le Labo’s Williamsburg boutique. The warmth of the sunshine and the smell of coffee. it was a place to find respite from the fast pace of New York City.
