at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, McLaren opened a new chapter. the 675LT, the first long-tail model, was unveiled. it was inspired by the McLaren F1 GTR Longtail, which won its class at the 1997 24 Hours of Le Mans. based on the 650S, the 675LT embodies the essence of the McLaren LT philosophy: driver engagement, track-optimized dynamics, light weight, aerodynamics, power and, above all, rarity.
In the decade since, McLaren has expanded its performance lineup with the introduction of six LT series models, including the 600LT and 765LT. the Long Tail name refers to more than just the exterior changes. the aerodynamic design, including an elongated rear spoiler, maximizes downforce and creates a machine with true race DNA.To celebrate, McLaren has launched the ‘Celebrate LT’ campaign. it consists of special programs for LT owners and fans around the world. exclusive content centered around the brand’s historic LT models will be made available to owners first, followed by exhibitions, driving events, invitations and other hands-on experiences. throughout 2025, a range of engaging events will be available through authorized McLaren retailers.
