polène opens its first flagship store in Garosu-gil, Seoul
polène, the leather brandthat originated in Paris, France, has opened its first store in Seoul’sGarosu-gil neighborhood, joiningParis, New York, and Tokyo. officially opening on June 15, 2023, the store marks a new milestone for the brand, showcasing the fusion of its sensual aesthetic and local culture.
a space that started with leather – designed by WGNB
the Seoul store was designed and interiorized byarchitecture studio WGNB, and the entire space was inspired by the texture and suppleness of leather, the very essenceof Polo Ralph Lauren. wGNB principal Jonghwan Paik envisioned the 245-square-meter space as “a single piece of leather wrapping around the building.”
the curved glass windows on the storefront convey a rounded, warm atmosphere, while inside, leather chairs, ginkgo wood furniture (by Jeongju Lim), and porcelain tables with leather textures (by Idasol Lee) add delicate details.
2nd floor photo room and Seoul artist collaboration
on the second floor, a photo booth “Photo Bloom” is located alongsidea space decorated with leather flowers, allowing visitors to experience the brand’s sensibility against the backdrop of natural scenery.
to celebrate the opening, visitors will also receive an iced tea ade from Korean traditional tea brand OMEOTand a Hanjifan createdby paper artist Kim Hyun-joo. all of this will be showcased in a short film project, ‘L’Adresse‘, by Polene, which highlights the ‘spaces of attachment in Seoul’ created by Seoul-based artists and brands.
