living community platform connects everyday life and creativity beyond furniture
moscarpet, where the showroom feels like home
a red brick house near Ttukdo Market in Seongsu-dong, Seoul. this space, which retains the spirit of an old neighborhood, has been given a new lease of life. Moskapet, a furniture showroomby Built By Pioneers (BBP), is not a typical showroom, but a cozy place where visitors can stay and share time with the furniture.
under the concept of “a space that feels like home, not a showroom,” Moskapet suggests scenes from life using furniture. a window with sunlight streaming in at an angle, a painting on the wall, and music playing from speakers add a story to every product.
moscapet Friends – Collaborating with creators
what makes Moskapet special is that it doesn’t produce its own furniture, but rather collaborates with various creators to design and produce furniture. designer Inhyuk Cho(Rehir), designer Hyunah Kwon(Villa Record), and writer Kim Ki-seok (Moscapet Friends) create products based on their own sensibilities and brands.
each piece of furniture in the showroom is infused with the creator’s personality, whether it’sthe modular furniture brand Faktor, the fabric-based Coldfog, or the primary-color illustrated Lihire, you can guess whose work it is even without a description.
moscapet’s proposed living community platform
moscapet aims to go beyond simple furniture distribution to help creators brand and go to market. the creator is in charge of making the furniture, while Moscapet takes care of material selection, safety checks, logistics, etc.
recently, the company has announced collaborations with artist Park Giljong of Giljong Sangga and designer Kwon Ui-hyun of One2Chachacha, and also participated in the Seoul Living Design Fair, where it presented an exclusive exhibition including the Creators’ Room.
music, paintings, incense – bringing the content of the home to furniture
moscapet doesn’t just look at the furniture in a space as objects to be displayed; instead, it infuses it with a variety of sensory elements, including music, books, scents, and performances, to fully embody the “experience” of living in a home. in fact, the showroom features works by artists Inhyuk Cho and Rarebirth, and its own character, Moss, is the work of Rarebirth‘s JooSeung Joo.
in the future, he says, the spacewill evolve into a living platformthrough performances, exhibitions, and content collaborations.
