Hi-Fi is short for High Fidelity. originally an acoustic term, it refers to the characteristic of an acoustic device that faithfully reproduces the original sound without distortion in the human audible range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz

- the sound heard on the playback device sounds like the sound in the field
- pursue the pure sound source itself and use various methods to reduce distortion, coloration, loss, etc. as much as possible. use sound effects, including equalizers, to drive the system as appropriate

- overuse of sound effects can lead to poor sound quality
- have space. the environment in which you listen to music is as important as the speakers
- using microphone measurements of acoustic characteristics, phase distortion, standing waves, and booming are just a few of the things to consider

i shouldn’t have gotten into hi-fi audio …. i’m just kidding and I think there are a lot of people who think that there is something about audio that doesn’t make sense to some people and that it’s not necessary. i think it’s a matter of personal preference and I’m sure other high-end audio users will think it’s cute to see.
