ligne Roset, a leading French furniture brand, and Moroso, a premium Italian furniture brand, have teamed up to bring together contemporary art. currently on view at Ann Gallery, Connect: Art and Design blurs the lines between furniture design and fine art, proposing a space where artistic sensibility and practicality coexist. the exhibition is on view through April 19.The exhibition is based on French and Italian contemporary furniture design, which is paired with contemporary artworks such as paintings and sculptures to add a new interpretation to the space. the works are not simply displayed, but are placed side by side with the design objects, creating a subtle tension and dialog. some 30 works by 11 Korean and international artists, including Kwangyoung Jeon, Jasung Koo, Shinhan Chul Shin, Jongseok Yoon, Jungwoo Hong, Heesoo Seo, Yosup Baek, Yukyoung Oh, Hongsik Kim, Jean Boghossian, and Bahati Simoens, add depth to the exhibition

since its founding in 1860, René Rose has built a reputation for emotional design and exquisite craftsmanship, pushing the boundaries of artistry and practicality through collaborations with world-class designers. “Furniture is not just a combination of wood and foam, it is an artistic experience,” explains Michel Roset, co-CEO of the brand. The exhibition will feature the Ploum Sofa by brothers Erwan & Ronan Bouroullec, as well as the brand’s iconic Togo Sofa by Michel Ducaroy. featuring flexible upholstery and soft foam, Plum is designed to embrace a variety of postures, while Togo, a favorite for more than 40 years, proves its classic silhouette and ergonomic functionality are still relevant today
moroso’s design language, an art born of relationships
described as “haute couture furniture,” Moroso has been recognized around the world for its sensual and experimental designs since its founding in 1952. “Design is a way of embracing the different layers of life through relationships,” says Patrizia Moroso, the brand’s creative director. The exhibition will feature the Gogan Sofa and Antibodi Chair by Patricia Urquiola. inspired by nature in Japan, the Gogan Sofa catches the eye with its soft curves and organic shape. the Antibodi Chair, on the other hand, creates visual tension with its petal-like pattern and strong contrast of metal and fabric, combining functionality and artistic flair
