continuing to explore the boundaries between fashion and art, [translate] Louis Vuitton is finally opening its first gourmet space in the heart of Seoul, Cheongdam. opening on September 1 on the fourth floor of Louis VuittonMaison Seoul, Le Café Louis Vuitton ([translate])is more than just a café, it is a cultural venue that embodies the French art of living, or “Art de Vivre,” in a contemporary sense. it is a unique experience where world-class architecture, gastronomy and the brand’s heritage meet the dynamism of Seoul.
architecture speaks of space
the Louis Vuitton Maison Seoul, home to the café, is a work of art in itself. world-renowned architect Frank Gehry designed the fluid glass façade, inspired by the graceful curves of Suwon’s Hwaseong and Dongnae’s Crane Dance, while Peter Marino created the interior, a contemporary interpretation of the House’s identity. the café’s organic dome-shaped ceiling, warm wood furnishings, and natural light pouring through the curved glass create a delicate and immersive spatial experience for visitors.
a gastronomic conversation between Seoul and Paris
the menu is the creative result of a meeting of French sensibilities and local Korean flavors. as part of the Louis Vuitton Culinary Community, Chef Tae Kyun Yoon worked closely with Michelin 3-star chef Arnaud Donckele ([translate:Arnaud Donckele]) to create original dishes that can only be enjoyed in Seoul.
beef Monogram Dumplings: Korean traditional dumplings are infused with beef short ribs, soy sauce, and sesame oil broth to create a delicate and deep flavor. The monogram pattern on the dumplings adds visual interest.
yuzuCaesar Salad Eclipse: A Korean twist on the familiar Caesar salad with a refreshing yuzu dressing. the delicately sculpted greens are garnished with a monogrammed garnish.
korean Peach Charlotte: This dessert pays homage to the heritage of both Seoul and France, with a harmonious balance of flavors.
beyond gastronomy, a place of cultural inspiration
le Café Louis Vuitton is more than a place to enjoy food, it is also a book lounge where cultural inspiration is shared. books carefully selected by Chef Tae-Kyun Yoon and the book curator fill the space, including travel and art books from Louis Vuitton’s own publishing house, Louis Vuitton Éditions. at this sensual intersection of luxury and everyday life, art and gastronomy, indulge in one of the brand’s most contemporary dining experiences.
