Wearing the soul of the F40: ferrari unveils new one-off model, the ‘SC40’

ferrari has unveiled the Ferrari SC40, a new one-off model that pays homage to the legendary F40 supercar. Created for just one customer and through Ferrari’s customization program, Special Projects, the car is a one-of-a-kind work of art, a modern interpretation of the heritage of the past.

design: Reinterpreting the F40’s iconic livery

While the SC40 is based on the structure and powertrain of the 296 GTB, the exterior is a complete reimagining of the F40’s iconic design elements with a modern twist. Sharp, angular lines inspired by industrial design dominate the overall silhouette.

• fixed rear wing: The massive rear wing, rising vertically from the engine cover, inherits the F40’s most distinctive feature and is finished in an exclusive white color called ‘Bianco SC40’.
• air intakes: The classic Naka duct, an iconic feature of the F40, is modernized with a large triangular carbon fiber plate.
• engine cover: Smoked polycarbonate louvers and open mesh panels to cool the heat from the powerful engine are a nod to the F40’s mechanical aesthetic.

performance and interior: a blend of past and present

the Ferrari SC40is powered by the V6 turbo-hybrid powertrain from the 296 GTB, producing a peak output of 830 horsepower. it’s a powerful performer that can sprint from rest to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds.

the interior is a modern interpretation of the carbon-Kevlar materials pioneered by the F40: charcoal-colored Alcantara and red jacquard technical fabrics combine to create an exclusive motorsport-inspired atmosphere.

two years in the making, one for one person

the model was born from the customer’s idea and took nearly two years to create in close collaboration with the Ferrari Styling Center. the customer was directly involved in every step of the process, from design evaluation to validation, sharing the experience of creating his very own Ferrari.

the life-size styling buck (mockup) of the ‘Ferrari SC40’ will be on display at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello, Italy, starting October 18, where you can witness the resurrection of the legendary supercar firsthand. more than just a tribute, the car is another milestone in Ferrari’s ability to translate its past heritage into a design philosophy for the future.
