donatella Versace to step down as CCO after 28 years

a new chapter for Versace

after 28 years at the helmof Versace, Donatella Versace is stepping down as Chief Creative Officer. she took over as creative director of the brand after the death of Gianni Versace in 1997 and continued the Versace legacy , establishing the essence of Italian luxury throughintense colors, bold patterns, and opulent maximal silhouettes.

on April 1, Donatella will takeon the role of Senior Brand Ambassador, activelysupporting Versace’s social and philanthropic efforts.

dario Vitale willsucceed Donatella as Versace’s new creative leader.

after graduating from Istituto Marangoni in Italy, Vitale worked at DSQUARED2, Bottega Veneta, and

he was the design director of Miu Miu , where he helped revive the low-waisted trend and the micro-miniskirt.

she also worked under Miuccia Pradafor nearly 15 years, where she helped grow the brand’s sales.

we‘ re looking forward toseeinghow his sensual eclectic designs will synergize with Versace’s signature maximalism.

donatella announced her resignation,

“I am delighted that Dario Vitale is joining Versace and I look forward to seeing the new look of Versace with his flair. i would like to express my deepest gratitude to all my employees and the design team for their dedication to the brand over the past nearly 30 years.”
