Only 40 People for the ‘Night Museum at 8 PM’… A Private Night Museum with Monet

The Hyundai ALT.1 in Yeouido, Seoul is hosting the exhibition ‘Impressionism, From Monet to America: Crossing Light and Sea’, welcoming visitors in a special way. It features a private docent tour at 8 PM, called ‘Night Museum’.
This program is a limited invitation event for Korea Economic Daily Arte Magazine subscribers, taking place on April 28, 29, and May 12, for a total of three sessions. After the department store closes, only 40 people can enter this special exhibition, offering a serene night art journey alongside masterpieces.
A Quiet Night, A Special Encounter with Impressionism

The event begins with a narration by docent Choi Ye-rim. The docent’s delicate explanations resonate in the quiet exhibition hall, guiding visitors into the canvases of Impressionist masters, allowing them to fully experience the light and emotions within the paintings. It’s a moment where masterpieces by Monet, Pissarro, and others come to life through storytelling.
After the narration, there is a 30-minute free viewing time, allowing the 40 visitors to leisurely explore the 350-pyeong exhibition space as if they had it all to themselves, appreciating the artworks.
Real ‘Cultural Benefits’ Only for Subscribers

Visitors who participated in this event expressed great satisfaction, saying they first experienced such an opportunity through ‘Arte Magazine’. A visitor in their 20s, who attended on their father’s recommendation, said, “If there had been a lot of people, it would have been hard to see up close, but thanks to the subscription, I truly felt the art.”

Another participant said, “I was able to enjoy the art exhibition with my daughter and add some leisure to our lives. Arte Magazine feels like a bridge connecting opportunities for cultural experiences, not just a simple information source.”

Why is the ‘From Monet to America’ Exhibition Special?
This exhibition introduces the Impressionist collection from the Worcester Art Museum in the U.S. for the first time in Korea, and is noted for its rare composition that shows the flow from classical Impressionism to American Impressionism. In the early days of the exhibition, it attracted more than 4,000 visitors a day.
Amidst this, the private night museum avoiding crowds offered visitors not just simple art appreciation, but a ‘memorable night’. It is a recommended exhibition in Seoul for those seeking a quiet encounter with art.
