fashion house Miu Miu was selected as the main partner of the Art Basel Paris Public Program to present 30 Blizzards.a projectby British Turner Prize-winning artist Helen Martin at the Palais d’Héna, the headquarters of the French Economic, Social and Environmental Commission. The exhibition encompasses a variety of mediums, including sculpture, painting, drawing and video, and explores the complexity, depth and continuity of life that characterize Martin’s artistic world.

30 Blizzards. is Martin’s first foray into the performance form, and was created in collaboration with theater-opera director Fabio Cherstich and composer Beatrice Dillon. thirty performers appear as different characters, filling the space with song, dialogue, and movement, creating a unique blend of sound and performance. Each character represents a succession of moments in life, from childhood to old age, and the exhibition is structured as a series of five sculptures, five videos, and five different narrations

the exhibition unfolds within the linear and majestic columned structure of the Palais d’Énat, where visitors are free to experience a continuum of monologues, performances, and immersive videos that explore human identity and the meaning of time, language, structure, and transformation. each of the 30 characters has their own unique emotional arc, which extends into a participatory artwork where the audience and the space interact.
