nVIDIA, a leader in the artificial intelligence (AI) era, has elevated its partnership with South Korea to the level of an “alliance,” marking the beginning of the NVIDIA Korea AI Alliance. on October 31, 2025, CEO Jensen Huang announced the delivery of 260,000 copies of its latest GPU, Blackwell, to the South Korean government and four major corporations, and on the same day released a tribute video on its official YouTube channel paying tribute to the country’s industrial development.
“Korea’s Next Industrial Revolution”: the message behind the tribute video
nVIDIA’s three-minute, 16-second video, titled “Korea’s Next Industrial Revolution,” begins with a narration that reads, “Korea, the country that created the miracle of the Han River. the video highlights the compressed growth of Korea’s determination and sacrifice, and shows the development of the country’s key industries, including steel, semiconductors, and automobiles, along with historical footage.
“NVIDIA Zephyr has become the equipment of new players,” he says, referring to the rise of PC culture and esports, emphasizing the country’s history of advancing technology and culture together. the video concludes with the message, “It’s an honor to be in this together,” expressing a deep bond that goes beyond just being business partners.
260,000 GPUs, a springboard to AI dominance
the centerpiece of the announcement is a contract to supply 260,000 GPUs, estimated to be worth over KRW 20 trillion. this is a bold move amidst a global GPU shortage, and demonstrates NVIDIA’s confidence in South Korea’s AI potential.
who and how much
the supply will be allocated between the government and leading Korean companies.
- government (Ministry of Science and ICT): 50,000 copies to build the National AI Computing Center
- nAVER CLOUD PLATFORM: 60,000 copies
- samsung Electronics, SK Group, and Hyundai Motor Group: 50,000 each to build their own ‘AI factories’ and strengthen semiconductor and manufacturing AI
upon completion of this supply, the number of NVIDIA GPUs in South Korea will increase by approximately five times, from 65,000 to 325,000, marking a breakthrough in AI research and industry development.
an all-encompassing collaboration for the future
nvidia chose Korea as a key partner because of its robust industrial ecosystem, including semiconductors, manufacturing, telecommunications, and gaming, and its strong market potential to translate AI technology into real-world industries. this collaboration marks the beginning of a comprehensive alliance that goes beyond just hardware supply to include joint research on AI technology, talent development, and startup support. we look forward to seeing what the future holds for the next industrial revolution together with Korean companies.
