The opening stage on June 21 will feature the Asia Philharmonic Orchestra (APO), conducted by Artistic Director Myung-whun Chung, performing Beethoven’s ‘Triple Concerto’ and Symphony No. 9 ‘Choral’. Violinist Sayaka Shoji and cellist Jian Wang will join as soloists, and the choir will include soprano Hwang Soo-mi, the Class Busan Season Choir, and the Changwon City Choir, promising a grand sound.

Star Pianists Including Seong-jin Cho and Yekwon Sunwoo to Perform

On June 22, world-renowned pianist Seong-jin Cho will perform Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5 ‘Emperor’ with the APO. Additionally, organist Jo Jae-hyuk will showcase the sound of the Busan Concert Hall’s pipe organ with Camille Saint-Saëns’ Symphony No. 3 ‘Organ’.

On the 23rd, Van Cliburn Competition winner Yekwon Sunwoo will present chamber music performances featuring Beethoven and Brahms’ piano trios.

Myung-whun Chung to Perform as Pianist and Conclude with Beethoven’s Opera

On June 25, a special stage is planned where Myung-whun Chung will perform as a pianist rather than a conductor, and on the 27th and 28th, the festival will conclude with Beethoven’s only opera, ‘Fidelio’.

This opera performance will feature the APO, Busan City Choir, and National Choir, presenting a choral stage that maximizes the acoustic characteristics of the Busan Concert Hall.

Ticket reservations can be made through the official website of Busan Concert Hall, and they are also available on Interpark, Ticketlink, and Yes24. 10,000 won tickets for middle and high school students and university students will be sold for some performances.
