Game 1 of the MLB World Series is in the books, but the review is here
the curtain has risen on the 2025 Major League Baseball World Series. on October 25th, the Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays faced off in Game 1 of the 2025 World Seriesat Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada. In a game that was all about dominance, Toronto came out firing on all cylinders, defeating the Dodgers 11-4to take the series lead. meanwhile, the Dodgers’ highly anticipated Hye-Sung Kim was on the 26-man roster but did not play in the game.
dodgers set the tone early, but Snell nervous

the Dodgers took the lead in the first inning on a Will Smith RBI single, and added another run in the third on a Smith RBI single to take a 2-0 lead. However, Blake Snell’s start was shaky early on. he gave up a two-out double in the bottom of the first inning, leaving the door open for a big inning.
sixth inning nightmare: A broken mound, an explosive Toronto batting lineup
the jitters finally broke in the bottom of the sixth inning. toronto tied the game in the bottom of the fourth on Dolton Bashaw’s game-tying two-run homer, and in the top of the sixth, they wreaked havoc on the Dodgers’ mound. after starter Snell walked the bases loaded, Emmitt Sheehan and Anthony Banda couldn’t stop Toronto’s red-hot bats.
back-to-back RBI singles by Ernie Clement and Andres Jimenez put the game out of reach, and then with the bases loaded, AddisonBarger hit the first pinch-hithome run in World Series history to put the game out of reach. Alejandro Kirk followed with a two-run homer, and Toronto exploded for nine runs in the sixth inning alone.
ohtani’s comeback, but it wasn’t enough for the Dodgers
shohei Ohtani hit a two-run homer in the top of the seventh, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the damage done, and the game ended in an 11-4 Toronto victory. while many expected a well-rested Dodgers team to dominate a Toronto team that was coming off a hard-fought Game 7, the result was quite the opposite. instead, Toronto turned it up a notch and took full advantage of the Dodgers’ mound, en route to their first World Series title in 32 years.
