When I hear that the regime has changed, the world is in chaos, and diplomacy is collapsing,
I think of one person’s face. That is Kim Hyun-jong.
1. His Growth and the Power of the ‘Outsider’
Kim Hyun-jong was born in New York. He returned to Korea after giving up his American citizenship, coming from a background that could never be considered ‘privileged’ in Korea as a thorough outsider.
Nevertheless, he stood at the forefront of diplomacy and trade, becoming a master who designed the enormous structure of the Korea-U.S. FTA that no one could challenge.
