there’s a sense of excitement whenever you find a new space. you can’t wait to see what the vibe will be like and what the experience will be like, especially if it’s a restaurant or cafe that’s a feast for the eyes and the palate. These are some of the best places to grab a bite to eat, a cup of coffee, a stroll, or a drink. here are three recently opened culinary spaces to help you decide where to go next. they’re great to visit alone, but they’re even better with company.
tak Home
tAC, known for its trendy New York-style tacos, has moved from Hannam-dong to a more spacious space. While retaining the vibe of the original location, the new space has a more cozy feel with the name “TAC Home.” The most noticeable change is the bar tables connected to the kitchen. it’s a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve been invited to a friend’s house and allows you to interact with the staff.
the menu is the same as before, but in line with the ‘Home’ concept, we’re trying new things, such as recommending wine and taco pairings, and we often offer light appetizers to go with the wines, focusing on increasing customer interaction. The overall lighting in the space is also more relaxed, with natural light coming in through the large windows instead of bright artificial lighting.
the second and third floors of the building are also home to Ichi Corporation’s F&B brands, including The Truffle Bakery Sandwich Club, which serves sandwiches and soups on the second floor, and The Truffle Bakery Kitchen & Bar, which serves brunch and dining menus on the third floor. with so many different culinary experiences under one roof, there’s plenty of reason to keep coming back.

camel Coffee Seochon Branch
camel Coffee, which started in Dosan Park and has since expanded to other locations around Seoul and Jeju, has opened a new space in Seochon. Officially opened on March 4, the Seochon store is located on the site of the former Tongui-dong Post Office, giving it an extra special touch. The store faces Gyeongbokgung Palace’s Yeongchumun Gate, and the tree-lined streetscape allows you to fully experience the changing seasons.
the interior, which uses the brand’s signature colors of brown and wood tones, maintains the warm atmosphere of Camel Coffee, but also captures the personality of the Seochon store. the vintage feel was emphasized by keeping the old building’s frame intact, and vintage furniture with different designs was placed to create a natural and comfortable atmosphere.
open from 8 a.m., Seochon is a welcoming space for nearby office workers and residents, and you shouldn’t miss the Heritage Latte with coconut milk, which is only available at Seochon. if you want to get a good seat, we recommend visiting a little earlier in the day.

cliff
opened on February 22nd in an alleyway on Daehak-ro, ‘Ryeorang’ is a Korean bar serving food centered around traditional liquor. The interior and branding were designed by Hyunhyun, a company that plans various F&B spaces. The name ‘Ryeorang’ is inspired by the cliffs of Pyeongchang-dong, Seoul, and also refers to ‘rice’, the main ingredient of traditional liquor.
the wooden furniture and soft lighting give the space a warm feeling of stepping into a cabin. combine that with clean, chemical-free Korean cuisine and a selection of hard-to-find traditional liquors, and you’ve got a place where you can truly experience the harmony between food and drink.
the current menu is still under development, with more dishes to come. although the restaurant doesn’t have a long history, it’s an independent space created by the same staff who worked together at Hyunhyun for 10 years, so we’re looking forward to seeing what the future holds. if you’re a fan of traditional liquor and Korean food, you’re in for an exciting experience.
